Why??

Blaine and I have both heard the tales of small children asking why over and over, but really had no clue how true that was. Now we do, Alex has been in the Why stage for a bit more than a month, and it really can drive you mad. It gets to the point that we end up almost mocking him, saying Why back to him.

While this is a bit aggravating I will say it is so much better than the terrible 2 stage. Agian, one of those tales you hear about, but then think it must be a cliche because really can it bethat terrible? Oh yes it can.

Anyways, Alex is just weeks from being out of the the terrible 2s and into the... what are the 3s called? I think terrific 3s would be nice. I guess we shall see.

How Green is Your Garden

I began working on a small garden this past week. I was worried that I might spend my Spring Break sitting on my rear, accomplishing nothing, and getting bored. So, I decided to try this whole growing vegetables thing. I tilled the soil, bought some bagged manure, and bought a total of 5 small veggie plants. I did most of the work when Alex was gone, but when he got home from day care made sure to show him our new garden. I am very happy to say that he loves the garden. Nothing makes him happier than to plop down in the middle of it and throw some dirt about. Thankfully he has yet to squash any wee plants under foot, yet. In addition to the plants in the ground, today we began to work on some lettuce that will be growing in pots. I am excited to see how that turns out. Really, I am excited to see if any of them actually produce anything. Then the next big challenge will be getting Alex to eat them:)

Church Egg Hunt

One of the really nice things about moving to Wilkesboro has been the role the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church has played in our lives. It is the church that we were married in, and I have always really liked the minister who married us, Ben Trawick. Since we have been here we have become members and go just about every Sunday. Alex has become a part of that church as well, with many of the ladies there smitten with him. There is a great population of kids just about his age. Today, for those kids there was an Easter event. Alex got to make a few crafts and participate in an Easter Egg hunt, he was very happy.

Spring 2011

The warm days have really been nice. Its so great getting outside, playing in the sand box, running around with the new neighbors, and just generally having a good time.

Alex is rather advance for his age, he is already helping us with our crossword puzzles.
