Fun at Grandma Nancy and Papa Mon's

We really have had too much fun at the Grandma Nancy and Papa Mon's house. Alex pretty much gets to eat whatever he wants, case in point the yummy brownies he is helping to make here. I have to say he really loves helping and doing things for himself.. He has gotten pretty good at making his on PB and J sandwich and tonight he even talked me into letting him floss his own teeth (he did a good job).

The pool at their house is pretty great too, there is a little area where he can play in with no assistance. Mind you that doesn't not mean he doesn't want me or someone to play with him. "Play with me" is his mantra of the summer it seems.

Dino Museum

Alex and I went to visit Grandma Nancy and Papa Mon while Blaine was in Maine, and we sure had a great time. The best time was had at the Natural Museum in Durham. Alex has been obsessing on dinos the last 4 months, and so this place was right up his alley. There was a path way that had realistic models of differnt dinosaurs and at teh end a little place where he could be a paleontologist. There was also a train, Alex loves riding on trains! Of course, I love riding on trains to, so that was fun for me as well:)

Alex is getting so big, it blows me away to look at some of these pictures and see not a toddler or baby, but instead a little boy, a child one year from kindergarten.

Let Summer Begin

We are oh so close to SUMMER!! Alex is 1 day away and I am 1 and 1/2. We already have lost planned. Soccer happens to be one of them, at the end of summer Alex will be participating Soccer camp through the YMCA, very excited for that cuteness. He is also going to be in swim lessons  (wish us luck) and art classes again. My hope is if he is busy during the day maybe, some how a miracle will occur and he might sleep past 7 am.

I am a graduate!!

Today was Alex's awards/graduation program from Millers Creek Christian Academy. he has really loved this day care, as have we. The teachers are kind and loving, and have done a great job teaching him all sorts of things. He is able to count to 15. knows almost all of his letters, and is getting really good at knowing the sounds the letters can make. And oh year, he knows how to write his name!

The Great One is Now 4!!

Somehow while we were busy reading stories, playing dinos, singing songs and living life Alex managed to turn 4. It boggles my mind to think in just 1 year he will be a kindergartner. I don't want to think of this, for now I want him to still be my sweet little boy.

Sentiment aside, we had a great birthday. It was wonderful having everyone over for cake, ice cream and of course a pinata!
